Tulip glass for sure. A surprising amount of carbonation for a stout; probably because this is a lighter stout and not a thick alcohol ladened stout. Easy drinking with a dry finish, subtle gingerbread taste and then nothing; there is nothing that lingers. A great beer to drink while eating a Russell Stover Marshmallow & Caramel covered in milk chocolate Santa. mmm… delicious.

I’ll agree with “Well balanced with a nice clean finish”, but I have to admit I don’t pick up much of the “cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove and vanilla”. Very easy to drink, but not as exciting as it could have been. I unfortunately didn’t have any high end chocolate on hand to accompany it.

This is a typical 5 Paddles brew. Clean and easy to drink. I have to agree with Russ in that I don’t get most of the seasonal flavours – but there is a hint there.

I was hoping for something with a little stronger seasonal flavour profile, but this will suffice. I will raid my kids Xmas stocking for some chocolate to go with it…..
