Saison with Dai-dai, a type of citrus fruit from Japan! Fragrant, acidic and light. The daidai originated in the Himalayas. It spread to the Yangtze valley region and later to Japan. The colour of the fruit loses yellowish hue and becomes greener in the spring. The native Japanese word for the color orange, だいだい色 or daidai-iro, is derived from the name of this fruit. 355 ml, 4.7% alc./vol.
This is an awesome brew!
When I think saison I don’t think refreshing citrus, but this brew delivers it!
The daidai imparts a nice citrus note and it truly has a clean finish.
Godspeed little doodle – this beer is great!
Really nice beer and a nice break from the stouts and porters. Easy drinking with a nice balance of citrus, reminds me of a raddler, but not as sweet. The beer colour is a light gold with quite a few bubbles. Good stuff.
The citrus flavour is something between bitter orange and grapefruit. It actually kinda reminds me of Thrills gum. A strange beer. I am glad I got to try it.
