Brewed in collaboration with Bellwoods Brewery, this strong stout offers up flavours of smooth dark chocolate and creamy coconut, with a gentle coffee roast. Two versions of this beer were brewed – one at Bellwoods and one at Left Field – as a special release for the first ever Witchstock festival. Our version features coffee from neighbours, Pilot Coffee Roasters while Bellwoods’ version uses coffee from west end roaster, Propeller. 650 ml, 7.2% alc./vol.
After a day of post Christmas shopping, this brew fits the bill.
I am not sure if the coconut is in there or not, all I taste is a well balanced stout.
This is easy to drink and very flavourful! A great way to cap off a Tastemas that includes some brews ‘out of left field’, this Left Field brew is solid.
What a year for Taste-Mas, I think the 3 area experiment was a success. This last beer is a typical Stout; dark heavy with notes of coffee and chocolate. Too bad I couldn’t taste the coconut. I think that might be a good idea for a Stout or Porter; basically a Bounty Chocolate Bar in beer form.
Another classic stout. Coffee and chocolate. I also am not picking up on the coconut, which is too bad, because that could have been something interesting to set this one apart from the rest. Nonetheless, very drinkable and surprisingly smooth.
