Delightful raspberry bouquet and brilliant red colour. Mine poured a little on the flat side. I hope that is not a consequence of having stored it too long, but I acknowledge that could very well be the case. So I would have liked a little bit more foaminess/effervescence. The taste is distinctly reaspberry – no subtlety there. Maybe because of the flatness, but I wish it had just a little bit more complexity to the taste – maybe sweetness, or maybe hoppiness, just a little something extra to round it out. It’s easily drinkable and enjoyable though. I will aim to try it again either fresh from a tap or more recently bottled.
This is like raspberry candy beer. I love raspberry beers. Fruit beers in general actually. The first time I had a cherry kriek I loved it and I haven’t shied away from fruit based beers since.
This will find its way back into my fridge as long as it’s available!!
