Crafted from page 58 of our original family recipe book, this famously clear amber ale celebrates 30 years since our storied revival. Long aged, crisply carbonated, and brilliantly filtered, it drinks as smooth as it looks. 750 ml, 6.2% alc./vol.

Hmm. I don’t think “Sparkling” is a word I’d have used to describe this. Not that I dislike it, but to me, it tastes more like a porter or stout. Malty, toasty, toffee, coffee.
I agree with Russ, Sparkling is not a word I would use to describe this beer; I was expecting an Ale similar to the New Lang Syne, but I guess they meant that it was given the carbonation during the bottling process. The flavour was pleasant, with a nice toffee taste and a hint of coffee.
This is a great brew! It’s similar to a Belgian dubbel in my opinion but a little on the malty side.
I do find the alcohol comes through even though it’s just 6.4%. It isn’t offensive, just interesting.
I really hope that Sleeman continues digging into the family recipe book to bring out special edition brews like this one!!
