Malty sweetness, notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, are balanced with a crisp Fuggle hop finish.
Something special to get you through those short days and cold temperatures. Aromas of cloves and caramel evoke the sensation of home baking, and the rich malty flavour is enhanced with cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. 473 ml, 6% alc./vol.
Hmm. This is a crisp bright spicy ale. To me, the strongest taste is the ginger, but I get the clove, nutmeg and cinnamon too. With different artwork, two months earlier, this recipe could easily pass for fall pumpkin spice latte ale. I think it’s very well done, but this flavour combo isn’t my favourite.
Full disclosure – I am just getting over a head cold and I just finished a Beaus Lug Tread. I feel that I should have cleansed my palate before going to this one.
It’s a clean drinking brew with the Christmas flavours of a light fruitcake; but not too strong. It is a nice beer to have as you’re sitting around eating the leftover cookies!
I can see this becoming a regular during the season!
