This sour stout was aged for one year in brandy barrels and refermented on whole Montmorency cherries. Expect a big hit of brandy up front with notes of dark fruit and raisin. The sweet finish is balanced by a fresh fruit acidity. 500 ml, 9% alc./vol.
The cherry in this brew is delicious. It lends a very fresh taste. The sour notes are fairly strong with the first sip, but mellows as you are drinking.
The sour flavour stays after the finish for a moment, but is not unpleasant at all!
I’ve heard a lot of great things about this brewery and this bottle does not disappoint!!
