Day 9 of Taste-Mas 2015: Nickel Brook Old Kentucky Bastard Imperial Stout 750 ml

We kicked it up a notch with our Bolshevik Bastard Imperial Stout, aging it in Kentucky Bourbon barrels. The rich chocolate, coffee and dark fruit flavours from our Imperial Stout are married together with the vanilla, oak and warming alcohol from bourbon barrels. Together as one,the result is an incredible blend of aroma and taste. Drink it today, or cellar it to enjoy later as it matures. Cheers! 750 ml, 12.0% alc./vol.

Man can you taste the bourbon in this brew!!!

The imperial stout is a yearly tradition with our crew! I found the raisin was very prominent in this with the flour of the barrel coming through in the finish.

And 12%. Holy shit. This bottle is a killer.

Holy Shit is right. I still have to work tomorrow and this bottle is giving me the Beer sweats. STRONG!! When I poured this into a glass it was so dark that it sucked all the light out of the room and left me with a sipping, beer that should not be consumed around open flames. The flavour was nice and and more pronounced as the beer warmed to my touch.

We are in the home stretch and we’ve left the big guns for last. Leave you purse at the door and come grab a craft beer.

Lol electrictoolbox! This beer is like the dementors in Harry Potter! Ho, boy this is going to be a tough one to get through! Super dark in colour, thick in texture, and shall we say intense in flavour? Molasses flavour more than anything, and then alcohol. Twelve perfreaking cent! I will have to admit I do not like this beer.
