Our fifth year of brewing this collaboration with Great Lakes Brewing Company. Slightly tart, this Gose-style ale has a refreshing acidity with notes of white peach and coriander. 650 ml, 5.9%alc./vol.

Well, there was bound to be some beers in this dozen that I didn’t like quite so much. This is one of them. I know some people enjoy sour beers, but I am not one of them, and this is a sour beer. If I try to get past that personal preference, I think that SBFs (sour beer fans) will probably like this. Very effervescent refreshing feeling in the mouth (“refreshing acidity”, as the bottle says). I don’t pick up on the “notes of white peach and coriander”. I am going to drink this quickly, while it’s still icy cold.
Russ, wait till tomorrow, Nickel Brook added brettanomyces for some “funk”. Tomorrow maybe weird one.
As advertised this is a fruity, acidic beer that is very effervescent. I could smell some sort of citrus, no peach but very drinkable. I’ve had a few sips as is and I’m now going to try a little trick I learned from another brewery; the Gose style beer does well when you add a pinch of salt, a pinch is all you need, no more. Okay, I just added the pinch and it made the beer foam a little and adds another layer of taste to the palate. Overall, I enjoyed drinking the beer.
I would love to add to the comments – but by the time I visited the brewery they were sold out…so I celebrated day 3 of Taste-Mas by having a Lug Tread.
Not to worry my friend I’m sure we can arrange something.
