The force exerted on a rapidly spinning ball, allowing it to curve, lift or drop away from its natural trajectory is referred to in physics as the Magnus Force. This powerful effect is what allows a pitcher to spin the baseball and create curveballs, sliders, sinkers, screwballs and fastballs and is the inspiration for our Belgian Golden Strong Ale. Magnus Force is a golden-coloured ale with banana, apple and pear flavours balanced with hints of clove and cinnamon spice and a malty, slightly-sweet, crisp finish. 650 ml, 7.7% alc./vol.
Well then!! This is my first Left Field brew.
I have to say that this is down the “stereotypical” craft brew road far enough to make it legit – but not far enough to make it undrinkable for me.
I am not a fan of the hoppier beers; and at 30 IBU this is on the edge of what I usually drink, but it is a truly enjoyable brew!
The brewers description nails it without too much pomp and circumstance. I love it!
The Magnus Force used to get me to drink this beer was very low. This Strong Belgian Ale is a Home Run for me. I’ve had the pleasure of having a few different offerings from Left Field Brewery and this is on my top 5 list for sure. I love the easy drinking high percentage beer; they don’t have to be thick and over powering all the time. The look is gold with shades of butterscotch. I agree with Chuck that the brewer’s description is spot on. Enjoy Day 8 and we’ll get back to stouts tomorrow.
A nice fruity flavourful beer. Not too hoppy or bitter. Of all the flavours in the description, cloves really stands out for me. I like it.
