This beer is surprisingly black. And it is surprisingly (to me) mild tasting and drinkable for a beer so dark in colour. I was expecting extreme bitterness, but it’s quite nice actually. My glass warmed a fair a bit, and the beer was still quite tasty several degrees warmer than when I started. All in all, I am putting this one down in the ‘wins’ column.
This is another brew that would not normally find its way into my fridge. I am not a huge dark stout fan; but this is a fairly easy to drink brew!
There are a lot of the normal flavours you would associate with this type of beer. The finish is different though, more of the roasted flavour comes through and a slight bitterness on the end.
The Taste-Mas 2016 adventure continues!!!
Yep, this is dark, very dark, but again very drinkable. The nose is very boozy with hints of coffee and the taste has bits of chocolate and coffee. It’s like drinking a Grande Dark Chocolate Mocha with alcohol added. We might be on to a new morning coffee idea for the GO Train Commuters.
