Oof. The price isn’t the only unpalatable aspect of this beer. Chocolate+beer=not bad in many cases I’ve tried. Chocolate+mint=classic after dinner fare. Chocolate+mint+beer=experiment that probably had to be tried. Kudos to Falcon for trying this experiment. But having now served as a guinea pig in this experiment I have to declare that this hypothesis has been disproven and it’s time to go back to the drawing board. Mint just does not work in beer, as far as I’m concerned.

This is a S T O U T; dark black colour, molasses coloured foam, thick and heavy. I won’t go so far as to say it is a total failure because some of the taste is nice and the beer is drinkable. I am one that does enjoy a nice peppermint mocha from a local Seattle coffee establishment. If this did not have the strong coffee undertones I think it would not work at all.

This is a very interesting brew.

It sort of misses the chocolate and the peppermint feel is strong.

As I get closer to the bottom of this bottle the stout gets stronger and the mint persists.

A swing and a miss for me. I’m glad that we tried it, but I’m also glad I only have one bottle in my fridge.
