Nickel Brook Brewing Company Mystery Pack Beer D Dry-Hopped Sour 473 ml

Nickel Brook Mystery D

For the first time ever, YOU get to pick what beer we send to LCBO stores next. Pick up the Nickel Brook Mystery Pack, tell us which beer was your favourite, and we’ll launch the winning beer in the LCBO next spring!

Faced with four cans marked simply A, B, C and D, we want you to sample these beers without being swayed by packaging, tasting notes or marketing copy. Head to and vote for your favourite. The people’s choice will be launched in the LCBO in Spring 2018.

We always try to listen to what our fans tell us what they want, and now we can really make it happen. This is the first time (that we know of) that a brewery has directly asked the people who drink their beer what they want on store shelves, and we’re really stoked to have the LCBO on board as well. Which will you choose?

I understand that there are people who enjoy sour beers. I am not one of those people. I will power through 473 mL of this offering. It’s not totally undrinkable, but I couldn’t actually say whether this would be good or bad in terms of sour beers – I just can’t understand the appeal. This one’s not for me.

This is actually my favourite of the four.

I enjoyed the stout – but it wasn’t anything special.

B and C were IPAs which aren’t my fave.

This was a nice approachable sour brew. Not crazy, but flavourful and enjoyable enough for me to vote online for it!
