Aged for a year in a Pinot Noir barrel and conditioned on cayenne, black cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla beans this dark sour is a slow sipper to start the Christmas rush. 500 ml, 10% alc./vol.

An interesting melange of flavours here. I think I’d prefer less (or no?) cinnamon. For claiming to be a sour, I don’t think it’s very sour at all. I can feel a slight hint of the pepper in my mouth, even a minute after a sip. This strange combination of flavours does a good job of hiding the 10% alcohol content. I don’t love this beer, but I’m glad I got to try it. I had bottle number 11 out of only 400.
Bottle 14/400
The cocoa and cayenne were the first hits in this brew. The Pinot hits as you are drinking and the chocolate is strong on the finish. It almost leaves an aftertaste as if I’ve eaten a dark chocolate bar.
This is an interesting brew. Like a dessert beer, but not a dessert beer.
As it warms up the pepper and cinnamon both present a little stronger.
This is the most unique stout I have ever had. Not exactly my jam, but it is definitely an experience!
